TAKE ME AWAY

“Your Words hidden in my heart,

come as You promised—

You promised they’d put iron in me.

I fall harder every time you come to me in waves of peace.”

I love God’s Word. I love His law. Because of the Cross, there is no striving to obtain the beautiful righteousness it requires; but this victory did not make that righteousness obsolete or irrelevant.

Without holiness, we cannot see God.

And once you catch a glimpse of Him, you find how very unworthy and unsatisfying was every other pursuit.

I remember finding this verse and being filled with an eager hope that led to this song. What a promise! We can hide His Word in our heart and He will strengthen us inwardly so we can actually abide in Him.

Oh, the blessed harvest of righteousness in the heart that comes as a result!

Hold onto this promise! Claim it for yourself! Seek the Lord in His holiness!

No song could ever capture, no lyrics could begin to express how wonderful it is, and yet I attempted anyway…perhaps to spark in you a pursuit of your own. He is Love, He is Holiness, He is His Word, He is still able to be found…

“Invigorate my soul so I can praise you well, use your decrees to put iron in my soul.”

| Psalm 119:175

“How can a young person stay pure? By obeying Your word…I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

| Psalm 119:9,11

“But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in His holiness…afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living…work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.”

| Hebrews 12:10-11,14
